Cliffs for Kids

The Cliffs of Moher are a wonderful place to visit with children whether within a family group or in a group tour. The paths and viewing areas are safe and accessible and hard surface paths are provided onsite for buggy access to most points. Baby changing facilities can be found in the ground floor toilet areas. Our cafes cater to children and family tastes with healthy and delicious options.

Kids at the Cliffs Exhibition

The Cliffs Exhibition has content that will delight children of all ages. There is a small soft floor play area for toddlers and many of the exhibits are hands on appealing to all of the senses. The Ledge virtual reality tour is an immersive experience that is particularly enjoyable for children and the Predator Prey game will see the kids take on Dad or Mum to see who can be first to reach the top of the Atlantic food chain.

The exhibition contains interesting and instructive material that makes learning about the cliffs lots of fun.

Be sure and approach a Cliffs of Moher Ranger on the cliff edge. They can tell you all about the birds that you can see today and might even lend you their binoculars if you are careful with them. They can also tell you stories about the cliffs. Some of them have been coming here since they were kids themselves.

You might see Peadar the Puffin onsite and if you do he’ll be delighted to have his photo taken with you. Between April and July you might see his cousins, the Atlantic Puffins, where they nest on Goat Island. The best place to view them is from the viewing platform up the hill on your left as you get to the cliff edge. We have talking telescopes in place at various points to help you get a closer look at the view.

School groups will find an educational and fun visit in a safe environment.

Please note that the Cliffs Coastal Walk that continues beyond the boundaries of the visitor centre to Liscannor in the south and Doolin in the north is not recommended for children under twelve and those who decide to walk the trail with children should be very sure that they are supervised carefully at all times.

Please take a look at education resources for downloadable information and fun sheets for children.
