Getting here by Car

There is always something comforting about having your own car to explore a country; you have the freedom to pick and choose your own route and suit your own needs. For foreign visitors thinking about renting a car there are many car rental companies; you can find one quite easily at the airport when you arrive.  Car rental is available at Shannon Airport with Budget.ie The drive to the Cliffs of Moher is a beautiful one, through wild and rugged landscape; you can catch a glimpse of a Megalithic Tomb on your way down from Galway, or a Medieval Castle coming up from Limerick. County Clare has so much to offer as well.

When planning your trip the most important thing to know is its location, whether you are using navigation device, smart phone or just a plain old map. The Cliffs of Moher is located just to the north of Liscannor village, Co. Clare. You can get here by road, from both the Galway and Limerick directions. If ever in doubt, asks a passerby, they will help you find your way.

If you travel to the Cliffs by car please park in the main car park on the opposite side of the road from the visitor centre. Go towards the green cabins; please note that in high season both of these cabins will be open, if you are able to drive towards the cabin that means it is open. You can get your admission ticket at the cabin, which includes unlimited car parking and cross to the centre via the pedestrian crossing.

If you have a disabled pass, or need disabled parking, please make your way to the public car park and the attendant at the green cabin will advise and direct you to the available spaces in the area designated for disabled parking. It is possible to drop off passengers who find it difficult to walk, please speak to the attendant at the green cabin in the public car park first. They will advise and assist you.
