{"id":3661,"date":"2020-12-21T14:29:28","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T14:29:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cliffsofmoher.ie\/?p=3661"},"modified":"2022-06-24T08:38:29","modified_gmt":"2022-06-24T08:38:29","slug":"christmas-cheer-at-the-cliffs-of-moher-visitor-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cliffsofmoher.ie\/en\/christmas-cheer-at-the-cliffs-of-moher-visitor-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Cheer at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"December 21st 2020,\r\n\r\nOrla Hurley, director of nursing at Ennistymon Community Hospital, accepting a donation of Christmas gifts from Shannon Heritage plus paintings and individual letters from pupils of Mol an \u00d3ige\u00a0 N.S. from Melanie Lennon, sales and marketing manager at the Cliffs of Moher, for the hospital\u2019s elderly residents.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n2 Nursing homes, 2 local schools, and one Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience.<\/span>\r\n\r\nCommunity is about reaching out with compassion, staying connected, and sending love to each other. That\u2019s why the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience came up with the idea to help the local schools reach out and send some love to communities living in care homes in their locality.<\/span>\r\n\r\nRecognising the increased restrictions in nursing homes and to bring a little joy, Cliffs of Moher visitor experience worked with two local schools, Liscannor NS and Mol an \u00d3ige Steiner National School, and arranged to send in letters, recordings of Christmas carols, and paintings of landmarks in the locality to the residents of St Dominic Savio Nursing Home in Liscannor and Ennistymon Community Hospital.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe Cliffs of Moher collected the letters, recordings, and paintings and paired a gift for each of the residents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Shannon Heritage gift shop and Brambles both agreed to be part of this Christmas initiative and sponsored the gifts and provided the food.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>As a thank you for all the hard work that they put in on the frontline, staff at each of the centres were treated to a variety of home-cooked goodies.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe two schools performed in a socially distanced safe manner, outside the windows of the two nursing. It did indeed bring Christmas cheer to all involved.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nAs a thank you for their participation the schools will be treated to a day out at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience, once lockdown and restrictions are lifted.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThey will be treated to lunch and a fun day. A student will be chosen based on the most outstanding effort and will get a special prize on the day.<\/span><\/strong>\r\n\r\nLetters and painting from Liscannor NS and gifts and goodies for
