Art in Studios

Art in Studios

Art in Studios is a new initiative which gives you access to a network of 12 contemporary art and craft studios and retail outlets in East Clare. It’s a unique opportunity to visit local artists at work and purchase their art direct from the studio. The Art in Studios trail showcases a great diversity of artists and makers in East Clare including painters, printers, sculptors and artists working with ceramics, glass, mosaic, encaustic and fibre.

As well as letting you view original art, craft and design work – the Studios invites you to take part in a range of creative activities. The trail highlights the processes of art and craft making and a number of the artists on the trail offer to share these activities with visitors – via workshops and demonstrations throughout the year.

Please open Our Google map, which has locations marked for all studios and information on participating artists. Or use this catalogue to contact artists to visit and follow the map to their studios.

One of Ireland’s most famous sights, the Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone.

With a due-west exposure, sunset is the best time to visit.
