Ennis Golf Club

Ennis Golf Club

Ennis Golf Club, founded in 1907, is situated in County Clare, in the heart of Irelands scenic Mid-West, some 30 km from Clare’s idyllic coastline and the famous 200m high Cliffs of Moher, as well as the limestone landscapes of the Burren.

Here you’ll find an immaculately manicured 18-hole, Par 70, parkland course. There are tree-lined fairways and tight greens that present a considerable challenge to players – while the relatively even terrain of 5724m make it an ideal course for the holiday and society golfer.

The club is noted for it’s hospitality and the members and staff extend a warm welcome to visitors and societies. A variety of packages are offered, to contribute to the enjoyment of society members.

The state-of-the-art clubhouse opened in 1999 and overlooks the course. It has a large modern lounge bar, dining room, ladies and gents showers, visitors lockers, changing rooms and a large car park.

Ennis Golf Club is located 20 km from Shannon International Airport. Shannon is a one or two hour flight from most European cities with regular flights throughout the summer months. There are a variety of excellent hotels, guest houses and attractions within easy reach of Ennis Golf Club – details of which can be can be found on the Visit Ennis web-site.

One of Ireland’s most famous sights, the Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone.

With a due-west exposure, sunset is the best time to visit.
