Mid-West Ireland Languages

The Mid-West Ireland Language and Training Centre gives you the opportunity to learn English in Ireland – just off the Wild Atlantic Way and along the shores of Lough Derg, for a truly cultural and Irish experience!

The Centre is a language school with a difference: it strives to combine language learning with a truly Irish cultural experience, embedded in the local rural community and its traditions, surrounded by a spectacular natural environment, on the shores of Lough Derg, the biggest Shannon Lake and not far from the Wild Atlantic Way.

It’s also about learning being fun! Lessons are not restricted to the classroom, but spread out all over the whole beautiful Lough Derg Lake area – letting you take advantage of everything it has to offer: fishing, canoeing, walking, horse riding, music. Simply choose what interests you and the Centre will tailor the perfect package. At all times, the focus is on teaching English by engaging students with local people and participating in local activities.

The programs are:

Junior English, Cultural & Activity Program – running in Easter and the summer months from July to August.

Stay & Talk Program – an intensive one-to-one home-stay English Course at the tutor’s home. This program runs all year.

One of Ireland’s most famous sights, the Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone.

With a due-west exposure, sunset is the best time to visit.
