Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit
To wish one person a Happy St Patrick’s Day as Gaeilge, use the greeting ‘Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit’ which translates directly as ‘Happy St Patrick’s Day to you’.
Another common St Patrick’s Day greeting is ‘Lá Fhéile Pádraig Faoi Mhaise Duit’ which has the same meaning as the phrase above.

Do you know why a shamrock is national flower of Ireland?
According to St. Patrick’s Day lore, Patrick used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Today, St. Patrick’s Day revelers wear a shamrock out of tradition.
