Burren Tours

Enjoy these unique and wonderful guided tours of the Burren by Stephen Hegarty, a local, experienced and approved tour guide.

Whether you want to walk, hike or if you travel by car or coach, Stephen will accompany you and help you see the real beauty of the Burren and discover numerous hidden gems. The tours are tailor-made to suit your interests and may cover for example archaeology, local heritage, farming history, flora and fauna, geology or simply beautiful landscapes and seascapes.

Stephen’s farm is a small sustainable, eco friendly operation that is family run – a traditional small-holding. Stephen will invite you to visit, to see the free range cattle, pigs, hens, ducks and donkeys and giving you an up-close experience of a small farm just off the Wild Atlantic Way. You can even stay over-night: farm accommodation is provided in the form of a converted horse truck.

One of Ireland’s most famous sights, the Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone.

With a due-west exposure, sunset is the best time to visit.
