Jackie Maurer Ceramics

Jackie Maurer is a Ceramic artist living and working in the Buren Ballyvaughan Co Clare. She has been working with clay since a very young age and holds a first class honors degree from the Limerick School of Art and Design. Her practice is focused on making contemporary objects, from functional to sculptural pieces. She uses a diverse range of techniques for her making but her practice is mainly focused on the potterÕs wheel. Jackie studio is set on the route of the Wild Atlantic Way, with views of the sea to the front and the mountains to the back. In her studio she hold regular classes for adults and children and also has a drop in facility for familyÕs that are visiting the Burren and want to try something new.

One of Ireland’s most famous sights, the Cliffs of Moher are entirely vertical and the cliff edge is abrupt. On a clear day the views are tremendous, with the Aran Islands etched on the waters of Galway Bay. From the cliff edge you can just hear the booming far below as the waves crash and gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone.

With a due-west exposure, sunset is the best time to visit.
