Here you’ll find melody and song deep-rooted in the people and the landscape, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Cliffs.
You may very well be treated to a live musical performance in the open air – a long-standing tradition at the Cliffs.
There can be no finer, more authentic Irish experience than standing looking out from the Cliffs as the waves swell, the birds soar and the wind blows – while you listen to the harmonies of a visiting band or choir. From the serene beauty of a Celtic harp to the lively reels of a tin whistle player – this is tradition come to life.

We issue Twelve annual busking licences each year to Buskers who meet the scheme criteria. These licences can be renewed annually for regular performers. |

If you’re a student registered at a recognised musical summer schools, such as Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy, you can apply for a day licence to practise your skills onsite. |

Miltown Malbay is a short drive away and hosts the annual Willie Clancy summer school every July. It is one of the longest running annual music festivals held since 1973 and is attended by students from all over the globe to be schooled in Irish music and dance.
The famous Kilfenora Ceilí Band has its home in the village of Kilfenora – just 20km to the north east of the Cliffs of Moher.
Nearby Doolin is to Irish traditional music as New Orleans is to Jazz – home of the Russell brothers who led the rebirth of traditional Irish music in the 1960’s. The Micho Russell Festival is held in February every year.
Over the years, the Cliffs of Moher along Ireland’s famous Wild Atlantic Way have starred in many much-loved movies.
