The New 7 Wonders of Nature
In July 2009 the Cliffs of Moher were listed in the top 28 in the world in the global online campaign to vote in the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Voting closed at 11.11am on Friday 11th November 2011 (11/11/11) and the preliminary results were announced in Zurich by the organisers New 7 Wonders Foundation at 7.07pm. Unfortunately the Cliffs of Moher missed out on a slot in the Top 7. Nonetheless it was a wonderful acheivement to reach the final 28 and the campaign has provided positive PR and exposure for the Cliffs of Moher throughout. Many thanks to everyone who voted for the Cliffs and the many individuals, groups, public figures, state agencies and others who supported the Cliffs campaign.
